Delta Flight Attendant Application Process

The first step in the Delta flight attendant hiring process is to apply when Delta is hiring flight attendants!

Only one application can be submitted per candidate, and candidates should not apply more than once by using different emails.

You may think they won’t know, but they know, and it will ruin your chances of getting an interview.

Be careful before submitting your answers because once you submit them, they cannot be undone, and your answers cannot be changed, ever.

The Delta flight attendant hiring process can be tricky because there are so many steps, and you must master each step to proceed.

When applying, that is also the time to upload your resume if you haven’t done it ahead of time. A new resume is something that you can always go back in and add.

A good flight attendant resume is what will get you to the next step of the application process.

As all the airlines do, Delta uses an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) to scan resumes for specific keywords.

If your resume is not keyworded correctly, you will get a message that you have not been selected to proceed.

Delta flight attendant assessment

The Flight Attendant opportunity requires a Talent Assessment to help candidates understand their strengths in the workplace.

Candidates must complete and pass the assessment to continue through the interview process.

The Delta Talent Assessment measures a candidate’s ability to solve problems, adapt to different situations, and assess if they are the type of flight attendant candidate Delta Air Lines is looking for.

The talent assessment is what trips up many flight attendant candidates during the Delta flight attendant hiring process.

The opportunity to become a Flight Attendant at Delta Air Lines requires a Talent Assessment.

The flight attendant assessment helps candidates to identify their strengths in the workplace.

Passing the assessment is mandatory for candidates who wish to proceed with the interview process.

The Delta Talent Assessment evaluates a candidate’s problem-solving skills, adaptability to different situations, and compatibility with the criteria that Delta Air Lines is looking for in a flight attendant candidate.

It is common for a lot of flight attendant candidates to struggle to pass the talent assessment during the Delta flight attendant hiring process.

Screening candidates’ applications and having them complete talent assessments allows an airline to pre-screen candidates to save time and money on applicants who are not the right fit for the position.

Delta Flight Attendant Interview Process

Preparing well and showcasing your interview skills and experience is crucial to completing the Delta Flight Attendant Interview Process.

Delta expects aspiring flight attendants to use the STAR Method to answer certain interview questions.

The Delta Flight Attendant Interview Process involves seven steps, including the On-Demand Video Interview and the In-Person Event Day.

While all seven steps are critical, the actual interview situation during those two parts is where you must demonstrate your skills and experience to complete that portion of the Delta flight attendant interview process.

It is crucial to prepare well and exhibit your interview skills.

Delta expects flight attendants to utilize the STAR Method to answer behavioral interview questions.

The Future Flight Attendant Interview Study Guide can help you prepare with over 100 questions, brainstorming worksheets to train you to answer in the STAR Format, and advice on answering many interview questions you will encounter during the Delta flight attendant interview process.

Delta Flight Attendant Interview Attire

I want to note that Delta advises candidates to wear clean, pressed, professional clothing for the flight attendant interview.

You must dress for success for the On-Demand Video Interview and Event Day.

Professional dress is always best. You can’t go wrong with a suit for all genders, and women can wear a “statement dress.”

Future Flight Attendant has an Amazon Storefront filled with interview outfits you can buy directly from Amazon or even use the Storefront to get interview outfit inspiration.

Amazon even has a Try Before You Buy feature for Prime Members. You can try most items in the Future Flight Attendant store before buying.

You can try up to six items, return what you don’t want (within seven days), and keep what you want. It’s the perfect way to take your Delta flight attendant interview outfit for a test drive.

Delta On Demand Video Interview

Once you’ve passed the talent assessment and the VJT, you may be invited to participate in the Delta On Demand Interview.

The On-Demand Video Interview is self-recorded and can be completed at your convenience using Modern Hire.

Modern Hire is an online platform that allows employers like Delta to create and administer self-recorded video interviews as part of their recruitment process.

Job candidates can complete the interview at a time that suits them, and employers can review the recordings at their convenience.

Self-recorded video interviews are popular in the flight attendant interview process, as they are a cost-effective and efficient way for employers to screen numerous applicants.

The On Demand Video is excellent for candidates to showcase their skills and personality more dynamically than a traditional written application.

In-Person Event Day

Delta Airlines invites candidates who successfully pass their On-Demand Online Interview to attend Event Day at Delta’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

Event Day is a high-energy face-to-face interview, or F2F, hosted by Delta’s Flight Attendants and Talent team where candidates can showcase their experiences and get introduced to Delta.

If selected, you will receive an invitation to attend Event Day, which includes multiple interviews, Q&A sessions, and a chance to learn about Delta.

Event Day is an exciting part of the flight attendant interview process, and the entire day is dedicated to the interview.

Before Event Day, candidates will receive a guide with recommendations on what to wear, instructions on when to arrive, and where to go once they get there.

Job Offer

Delta Airlines offers a Contingent Job Offer to candidates selected from Event Day.

Job offers happen “on the spot.” It’s extremely rare (like unicorn rare) that you receive one by email if you don’t get offered an on-the-spot CJO.

Delta Flight Attendant Training

Delta flight attendant training welcome to Atlanta sign

You will be invited to attend Delta Flight Attendant Training if you receive a job offer.

Prospective employees who pass the initial screening process must complete the necessary documentation before their first day at Delta flight attendant training, including a background check and drug screening.

Upon confirmation, the selected Flight Attendants will receive their training date and commence a 7-week on-site training program at Delta’s World Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

This training is in-person and is initial flight attendant training.

It is an intensive initial training program where flight attendants will learn, be tested, and drilled on everything they need to get their FAA certification to become official Delta flight attendants.
